Documentary Screening: The Echo of Pain of the Many

To commemorate the International Day of the Disappeared on September 3 2013, Amnesty International UK will be showing the documentary The Echo of Pain of the Many. The documentary follows Lucia Cuevas as she records her return to Guatemala from exile in the UK, in an attempt to find those involved in the abduction, torture and murder of her brother and his family. The film shows the families of those who disappeared during the regime in Guatemala in their search for justice following the discovery of previously undisclosed police records.

The screening will be held at the Human Rights Action Centre in London, which will be followed by a Q&A session with the writer/director Lucia Cuevas.

Date: Tuesday 3 September

Time: 7.00 pm (doors open 6.30 pm).

If you are based in or around London, please put the date in your diaries and come to what promises to be a very interesting evening. Considering the recent annulment of ex-dictator, Rios Montt (http://wp.me/p3nWDR-6k), the timing of this screening is particularly poignant.
